Is he going to break the Ethiopian historical scheme of domination? Is he going to be a new Iyasso to continue the steps of the son of Menelik's daughter and Ras Mohammed Ali? The Ethiopian History is in the moving.
* Ethioian Politics in The Unknown Land: A Cultural and Historical Guide
In 384 pages, published on May 3, 2002, Stuart Munro-Hay wrote about Ethiopia as a land utterly out of the common. In the author's opinion Ethiopia is like no other land in its geography & geology, its fauna & flora, its people & their customs, & its long and fascinating history.
The author says, although it is not fashionable to say so among those who dream of African unity, Ethiopia has long preserved a sense of apartness, even from its closest African neighbours.
Well, in a simple sense, this is not true. See, my book "Horn of Africa's Political Tragedy" on the Apple iTunes. The iTunes badge is at the top of the right column 👉
The author's book in the focus continues, Its long domination by a warlike Christian population in the highlands, amid the neighbouring Muslims and animists. Its very ancient literate civilization is based on a Semitic-speaking ruling elite, and the very geography of the land itself have contributed to this element of exclusivity.
Regarding my last comment above through which I provided my book as a source of knowledge, some facts here in the last paragraph above are true, though.

Ethiopian Politics in Vanishing Africa!
Gianni Giansanti and Paolo Novaresio write on the Vanishing Africa about valley of the Omo River that a dead branch of the Rift Valley, worn hills and plains beaten by the relentless sun stretch the area.
They refer to the fact that the wild and remote southern region of Ethiopia has only appeared on maps little over a century ago, when the first European explorers discovered a mosaic of ethnic groups there.
A NOTE: This is a limitation in my opinion, or a statement done in a hurry, as I know there are not the European explorers who made it possible to discover the ethnic groups. They are the Greek in Ancient Greece. And at that time there wasn't any state called Ethiopia. See my book.
The authors write about the people as being isolated and remained like that for centuries and that have retained their cultures and customs intact to the present day-peoples like the Surma, Mursi, Karo and many more.
The authors attempt by examining a region in Africa to trace the roots of remotest Africa: the cradle of man, where ancestral bonds with nature still exist. By camera and pen, the authors have encapsulated long years of study of the peoples and ethnic groups of this continent, in search of vanishing Africa.

Ethiopian Politics in The ETHIOPIANS: A History (Peoples of Africa)Richard Pankhurst wrote many books about Ethiopia and he knew a lot of Ethiopian politics earlier during the empire, as his mother Sylvia Pankhurst had Been attracted to the Ethiopian culture and she supported the Independence of Ethiopia since the Italian invasion in 1935. He died in Addis Ababa nine February 2017. His mother also died in Addis Ababa in 27 September 1960.
He writes in this book about the history of Ethiopia from pre-history to the present day. Drawing on research in archeology, anthropology, linguistics and on recent historiography, the book charts the development of Ethiopian peoples and their society, placing emphasis on the African origins of Ethiopian civilization.
Pankhurst opens his review of Ethiopian prehistory, showing how the Ethiopian section of the African Rift Valley has come to be seen as the "cradle of humanity". He describes, for instance, the discovery of the remains of the oldest known hominid, "Lucy", in the middle Awash Valley, in 1974.
The book then discusses Ethiopia in biblical time, reconsidering, for example, the legend of the Queen of Sheba. The author examines the various dynasties that ruled in the period up to the first Portuguese mission, and explores the subsequent political and religious struggles between Christians, Muslims and Falashas.
He discusses the social and economic effects of key stages in the Ethiopian history such as the
Gondar period & the era of the "Judges".
