You learned about the internal elements and external elements of short story on episode 1 - 4 and knew that I came up with this definition.

I discovered that during the early eightieth, while I was journalist editor in the cultural and literary section of Al-Watan newspaper.

You also learned that the setting isn't one of the essential elements of short story. It is voluntary. As one of voluntary elements, as I always say, the setting of the short story is about the time and the milieu, where the short story has taken place, or space.

It changes, sometimes in the short story with the movement of the character, or few characters and according with the length of the short story. You can write a short story, however, without having the setting of time and place.

So, it is not important to be a part of the plot and the theme of a short story, as many literary sources say. It is only important in adventure stories and fables. You know, of course that phrase that goes: once upon a time, et cetera... 

The essentials of the Short Story Writing Techniques on the videos are clear. Understanding these essentials gets you to maintain the stream of the events in your short stories. In addition, it gets you the depth you need to criticize your own work.

The Right Definitions of the Short Story Writing Techniques!

The plot isn't the main sequence of events that make up the story. It is the technique of forming, or telling the short story.

The main sequence of events makes up the theme of the short story, through which the plot works as a frame of the sequences and thus becomes an external element of the short story.

The crux of the short story, is it the knot of the short story?

No, in the techniques of the short story writing it is the crop or essence of the theme. I prefer to describe it as a frame of the knot.

The creation is a mode of a mental pleasure. The mode of the mental pleasure is originated from strong imagination and warm feelings. It is as I like to describe, the forensic element of the ecstatic desire of writing. So, it is transcendent.

Suddenly, during carrying and delivering out your baby, yes during which you are pregnant, with a short story, you will be in the mode of feeling nothing is as important as the indulgence of this situation, with the pain of creation and the expectation it has.

The short story ideas might spring suddenly, for example from an accident, an event, or experience, or just creative impression, with ideas, as you see on the image.

Generating dynamic ideas like the ones you read on the quotes have been assembled in a short story I wrote during the eightieth, with the title "Love in the Time of the Orange and Pet Clouds".

I wrote that short story before Gabriel García Márquez published his novel "Love in the Time of Cholera".

Unfortunately, that short story was in Arabic language, therefor, the international critics couldn't get access to it, when it was published in a local newspaper, according to these facts.

The "orange" and the "pet clouds" are symbols of interactions in nature and in human feelings, which create a desire and generate an action.

Sometimes, that action could be unjustifiable, when it becomes sexual harassment, rape, or an attempt to rape.
